Jayashree Raman
Information and Data Science. Lifelong Learner. Overall Curious Tinkerer.
Hi, I am Jayashree.
I love to tinker with information in all forms and shapes.
My objectives are to utilize my skills in data science and machine learning, in order to build
scalable products that transform data into insights, and insights into growth for organizations.
When I'm not working, I am outdoors mostly; I love to hike, backpack and climb rocks & mountains.
I volunteer for the Washington Trails Association occasionally.
I am always on the lookout for side projects that are fun and force me to think in ways outside of how I normally would.

I am a big believer of the Lifelong Learning Paradigm.
I am always jotting down things to attempt, sometimes master.
Currently I am:
- Learning DBT
- Learning Japanese - to write Japanese Kanji and use Japanese words randomly in everyday conversations
- Automating export of Google Analytics data to track usage of a disaster score predictive website
- Building Serverless Applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Understanding how Container Orchestration works
This page lists down all my successes and failures (works in progress, I haven't given up on them yet).
Documented below are the highlights from my attempts at knowledge and skill acquisition.
Outside of work, I mostly like to be outdoors.
I love the outdoors, and have learnt quite a few skills and stories in my outdoor pursuits.
I am a trail advocate and have some experience building rock steps, turnpikes(!) and water bars, all acquired while while volunteering for the amazing WTA.
I learnt how to transplant and grow radishes and baby kale during volunteer time with the Urban Farm at the University of Washington.
I gave skating and sailing a shot for a short period of time, and it increased my admiration for people who pursue it with passion.
In the summers, I can mostly be found enjoying the sufferfest of scrambling and climbing mountains :)
I am an avid Postcrosser - and it is such a joy and privilege to be able to send & receive postcards to and from all over the world!
Some other nouns I associate with myself

The following is a display of my sandbox, a mental map of my learning journey - chronicling concepts, theories and experiments that have kindled my curiosity
While basic, they are the building blocks on which I have developed my understanding and enhanced my learning journey. I believe it is super important to capture these building blocks.
It gives you a very important perspective of growth when you look back.
Writings
This one is a tricky little thing, which I have boomeranged on a few times.
I find that that under information overload (which is pretty common), my brain goes into an overdrive, and I often lose sight of the important and interesting stuff. I use this space mostly to write about things. As has been repeatedly quoted in the internets, this process forces me to think clearly, question my assumptions, find the gaps and missing pieces and makes for an overall interesting intellectual adventure.
Highly recommend that you give it a try.
Lastly, it leads me to new things I can learn about.
Here is a link to my scratchpad, if you would like to take a look!
